Liposculpture
Liposculpture is a refined form of liposuction designed to precisely reshape the body by removing localized fat deposits while preserving natural contours. Thanks to modern dermatologic advances, today’s liposculpture is safer, gentler, and more precise than traditional liposuction.
At Dr. Dany Touma’s clinics, The Skin Clinic in Beirut, Lebanon, and Skin Experts Polyclinic in Dubai, UAE, liposculpture is performed using the tumescent local anesthesia technique and ultra-fine cannulas. This approach minimizes bleeding, reduces downtime, and allows for superior aesthetic control, all without the risks of general anesthesia.
Areas Treated
Liposculpture can be performed on nearly any area of the body, including:
- Face and neck
- Abdomen and waist
- Hips, flanks, and thighs
- Arms
- Breasts (women and men)
- Legs, calves, and ankles
Leg and ankle liposculpture is a particular area of expertise for Dr. Touma. While often considered technically challenging, his advanced technique allows precise sculpting of the lower legs and ankles with minimal risk and recovery time, producing elegant, natural results.
Breast Liposculpture
- Women: Liposculpture breast reduction offers a scar-minimizing alternative for women whose breast size is largely due to excess fat. The procedure can reduce breast volume by up to 50% through tiny incisions, with rapid healing and excellent skin retraction.
- Men (Gynecomastia): Male breast enlargement is most often caused by excess fat. Liposculpture is an effective, minimally invasive solution that restores a flatter, more masculine chest.
Safety & Recovery
Liposculpture is performed as an outpatient procedure. Most patients return home the same day and resume routine activities within 1–2 days. Mild swelling is expected and resolves gradually over several weeks. Compression garments are worn short-term to optimize results.
When performed under local anesthesia in properly selected patients, liposculpture has been shown in published medical literature to have an extremely low complication rate.
A Note on Laser Liposuction
Despite widespread marketing, laser-assisted liposuction has not demonstrated superior results compared to traditional tumescent liposculpture. It may increase cost, incision size, and the risk of burns or scarring. Dr. Touma advocates evidence-based, safe liposculpture techniques that prioritize patient safety and long-term outcomes.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
Ideal candidates are healthy men and women with stable weight, good skin quality, and localized fat resistant to diet and exercise. Liposculpture is a body contouring procedure, not a weight-loss solution.
